Story 3: Three Scenes Around Scrapbook Cards part 2

It was like a scene from a painting.

The appearance of two beautiful girls having a conversation while smiling was something that made me feel the warmth of the sun…It was also a scene that invited happiness.

“Scrapbook~? Nadi, did you have such a hobby?”

“Hmm, it’s more of a card collection. I don’t collect anything else, and I keep them in my own card case, not in a scrapbook.”

“Hey…are you really going to show me?”

“Sure, it’s fine. Because Luthy is special.”

“Thank you, Nadi.”

When Arthirea laughs softly, Nadia’s cheeks dye red.

I heard that Princess Nadia-sama was selfish and mean, but that’s not true at all.

It’s terribly funny to see a beautiful, strong-minded girl bursting with embarrassment.

Or maybe it’s just hereditary…

Julia makes tea while glancing at the two of us.

Today’s tea is Dafur green tea. Her Royal Highness likes green tea and often makes a confectionery made of sweetened beans (***like red beans) to accompany the green tea…

It is convenient to use this in a variety of confectionery, but it seems to take some practice to make it taste good, so when Julia and the others season it, it is inevitably too sweet.

Today’s snack is just a simple matter of kneading buckwheat flour, boiling it, and then pouring sweetened beans over it, so it’s a standard snack.

“Mmmm, delicious…The snacks here are really good. I want my maid to learn from them.”

“I’m glad you like it…We’ll have the kitchen finished soon…When it’s finished, we’ll have a confectioner coming in.”

“For sweets?”

“Yes. A chef who specializes in making sweets at the castle in Elzevert.”

Nadia smiles at the sight of Arthirea happily saying that she’s going to make an amazingly delicious pastry.

Eye candy~

It’s a beautiful sight that makes me whisper “eye candy” to myself.

I don’t like it. It’s kind of old-fashioned.

Julia told herself to be careful.

“Anyway, I brought His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s for today.”

“His Highness?…We don’t want to get it dirty, so let’s go over there.”

They moved to the sofa corner for tea.

A large sofa and large cushions. Nadia seems to like the feel of the yellow cushions, so she keeps them for herself.

“You have three books?”

“Oh, that’s just the last one. So this is the latest one. Look.”

“Uh…”

Arthirea froze, holding the cushion.

“What’s wrong?”

“What’s with this highly destructive device?”

“What?…Your Highness?”

“Uhh…”

I hold my mouth and spew out.

“Luthy?”

“S-Sorry…”

“Is something wrong?”

“No, His Highness, His Highness is…”

She nuzzled her face into the cushions she held and laughed on the couch.

“Why in the world is the prince…posing like this…?”

Arthirea laughs at His Highness’ card with a fresh smile that sparkles and sprinkles particles of light around her.

“…Oh, it’s impossible…”

It must be a setting of everyday life. Nigel brings his teacup to his mouth and smiles…This is also impossible. Nigel’s smile is paper-thin with his moodiness.

It’s extremely rare for His Highness to really smile in the first place.

Far from being extremely rare, Arthirea does not know that even Nigel’s own younger siblings have only seen it a few times.

She rarely leaves the Crown Prince’s palace, and the number of people she talks to is extremely limited. She still doesn’t realize that the Crown Prince Nigel that Arthirea knows is quite different from the Crown Prince that the others know.

“Where is…isn’t it the Crown Prince of Dardinia?’

“It’s not like that…”

When the laughter finally subsided, Arthirea had another fit of laughter when she found Nigel’s card, straddling a white horse with his sword raised to the heavens.

“What? Is it so funny?”

“Because it’s impossible if you know the real thing, isn’t it? Such a refreshing smile.”

Just looking at it was going to give her an itch, and Arthirea flails around her feet.

“What are you saying? His Royal Highness isn’t nice?”

“Nadi, you’re dreaming too much. I think His Highness is a wonderful man, but…no matter how famous the card is…I don’t think this is it.”

It seems like an idol’s bromide for Arthirea, but it’s too embarrassing for that.

He is dressed in a variety of outfits, including an Ishtra-style turban outfit, a lantern-bloomer prince style that is said to be Edelt-style, and a hakama from the Far Eastern island nation of Yada. It’s not too much of a stretch to say that it’s cosplay, but the smoky smile, the unnatural hand on his chin, the winking expression…the artist’s idea of a prince’s correction are just laughable.

Nigel in this miniature painting seems to even have special appearance music, with special effects every time he does something.

I would definitely walk away from someone like this.

I don’t want to get close to a man who carries roses around, sprinkling glittering particles of light.

“You laugh like that, but of course I have your cards too.”

“Is this my card?”

“Yes. You’re royalty, so of course.”

“… I’d like to see it…or actually not…”

“Oh, it was so cute. Last winter’s white dress was the most popular.”

“……Do you have it…?”

I tilt my head lightly.

“It’s not like I only collected Luthy’s cards. My collection spans the entire royal family.”

“Oh, that’s amazing.”

Arthirea is honestly impressed.

But if Nadia’s handmaids were here, they would have had something to say.

The girls were lined up first thing in the morning at Berry Berry’s head office and branch in the Royal Capital to collect Arthirea’s cards.

It took courage to stand in a line full of men, and it was a challenge to wade through them to get what they wanted in the store.

“I also have cards from when His Highness was a little boy and stuff like that.”

“I’d like to see that.”

“Yeah. Well then, you know…”

The two girls looked at each other, giggling and talking happily.

There was no shortage of chatter for the girls.
