Story 1: Whereabouts of the Capture

T/N: Happy Valentine’s Day everyone (for those reading the day this post came out at least)! Sorry it’s been awhile since my last posts, but I’m sure you’ll be very pleased with the upcoming extra stories! Super sweet and perfect for the occasion <3.

Just as a reminder, these extra stories aren’t part of the main story arcs, but take place either during or after the Parts 1 and 2! Enjoy~

—His Highness and Phil a little before the epilogue—

“Oh, what are you reading, Your Highness?”

The time is already around midnight.

It was so hot during the day that Nigel continued to work overtime, saying that his work efficiency was better at night, but his subordinates thought it would be a big nuisance if he didn’t take a break.

Phil-Lynn wants to say aloud that while he may be a a superhuman, the rest of them are just ordinary people.

Of course, he couldn’t say even a single word to him.

“This is Luthia’s favorite book. It’s quite a feat to be reckoned with.”

The thin booklet shown in the pane is completely different from the books Nigel usually likes to read. It’s an entertaining book called a ‘reading book’ that is simply bound with a thin cover, using paper and ink of lesser quality.

“What are you reading?”

“The Eyes of the Sky…It’s what could be called a romantic adventure political conspiracy post-mortem novel…”

Nigel tilts his head slightly.

“Ah, fine. I understand. Somehow…If you have time to read that stuff, get some sleep.”

Phil-Lynn wants to hit the hay as it is.

He’s working too hard by all accounts.

But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t leave it to his subordinates.

Nigel is not the type of boss who takes care of everything himself.

Rather, he throws more and more work out to those who can.

That’s how much hard work it is to be the monarch of a country.

The situation right now, in particular, is pretty grim, though not to say it was a quick start.

Although Esalkar’s coup d’état ultimately failed, the scars are deep. And it is not possible to give unconditional support to a country that was once hostile.

“What do you mean? There is a fifteen-year age difference between Luthia and I. It wouldn’t even be strange for us to be parent and child. It’s easy to love, but it takes effort to be loved. I’m not going to spare any effort.”

“…Reading that kind of goofy, girlie, Prince Charming-esque romance novel while talking about that is not at all ideal!”

I know he is serious, and I know he says it all sincerely…but it is subtly comical.

“What do you mean? This is my precious textbook.”

“What? Textbook? What is that going to teach you?”

“A 12-year-old girl’s dream marriage proposal.”

“Yes?”

I didn’t want to go into who the courtship was for or anything like that. There is only one person that this man in front of me wants. I know that more than enough already.

The princess is already your wife since long ago.

“I am not a very compassionate or humorous man The only thing I have that is a little better than others is my brain. If that’s the case, it’s just a matter of gathering the right information and analyzing it all in a way to understand as much as possible what she likes, and try to get as close to it as possible.”

When I looked up, there was a bunch of similar thin books with that same binding on the desk, piled up like a small mountain.

What’s more, there were some lines, notes, and bookmarks in them.

It looked like he was making a chart and seriously analyzing it. There are not many things that this man would do so seriously on his own without entrusting his staff to do the analysis.

“Hey, what’s going on? Are you going to war?

For the first time, Nigel laughed and said,

“I’m going to capture my wife. It’s not fair that I’m the only one being conquered.”

—End—
